Patreon and self promotion
So I have my first patron of my patreon account ! I had not published any information about it, just had a link in my beacons page to it, and I was trying to figure out how to post about it with out feeling weird. 😅 It gives me a weird feeling to self promote , but if I am honest , no one else is going to promote you like you. You have to let that feeling go and put yourself out there.
That is exactly how I started youtube videos. I just over think and re-shoot parts where I'm talking over and over again. Then I eventually say " chimakwa, just post the video and forget it" it is existing now, and that is good enough for me. I used to worry so much more if people will like it or what if I make something and it is not popular or my friends do not like it?
Good news! Somebody will find you and you will have the support you require to keep on going! Do not give up !!
I was just about to give up on patreon, and just delete it before I even made a post or promoted it, and bam. I have a patron. Serendipity !
I had taken sometime to make beadwork, and catch up on my studio Payment. Now that I can see the end in sight , I am more motivated than ever to keep my head up and keep working.
This month , my friend Jerry Kirk and Donna Post are having an exhibit at the Hayward Art Beat, and I have been invited to read some of Jerry's poems! Am absolutely honor to be considered and I am excited to attend.
I heard back from the AYACON folks in Colorado, and I am so far behind schedule w what I need to do for this trip, that it is overwhelming! So the way I plan on handling that, is to make a timeline and try my best to actually stick to it.
As a work from home artist, a schedule is sometimes helpful. You have to respect your time and it helps to stay on task if you are setting aside certain blocks of time to do said work.
I took my society6 collection down and I am unsure if I will republish any items on there, at this time. I have been meaning to update that, and seeing as It was not a very profitable investment of time, I took it down until I figure out whether or not to continue with it.
So that's what is going on lately.
I feel a little scattered today as I write this, perhaps my coffee is too strong or I am too anxious for work to get started.
