Spring Equinox
Welcome to Spring ! A season full of growth and blooming success.
I plan to film and edit another YouTube video, before the end of March at the very least. My last youtube video is of a commissioned painting , and here is the link

Having been accepted to AYACON (indigenous comic con!) in Denver , I have to start fundraising and planning now. It takes a bit of coordination to travel to an event , because I have my dogs, a rabbit, and 3 cats that I absolutely hate to leave.
I did manage to find a sitter, which is a relief. My nephew is a dog lover , who also helps to foster some pups who are in need. Knowing this , I trust him fully to care for my fur family with love.
Current projects : (that I can remember)
- I was commissioned for a painting , that I finished in what felt like record time for me, and made a video for that on my youtube channel.
- Another project i’m working on is a piece for the Annual Color Show at the ArtBeat of Hayward. I have it planned, yet it needs some time dedicated to the process to fully realize the painting.
- I have completed the application for the ArtCrawl , a local art event in the late summer/fall and will be hosted by the ever so kind folks at the Out of the Woods Winery. Once I learn the dates, I will post to the events page, where I try to keep an updated list of places or events that I plan to attend.
- Grants have also been a big focus lately , and my brain hurts from trying to figure out how to put together these proposals, or even find art grants that serve the area I live in.
- I reached out to the Woodland Indian Art Market folks, to see if there was going to be another Northern Woodland Indian Art Market , but the response I received did not mention any future plans for any such event here in Hayward.
Yes. Many irons in the fire as someone might say, I do not know who.
Which brings me to the next point , if there is one, to this blog.
No one ever mentioned the amount of work that goes into becoming an artist. If you’re lucky, someone discovers your raw talent and helps you and guides you into a professional standing. Probably won’t happen though, so be prepared to put in the work.
There is a lot of side jobs to being an artist , that are less than fun. Marketing yourself, social media, content making and editing, budgeting , writing proposals, taxes, planning events or seeking markets. The list goes on i’m sure.
Oh yea ! I also submitted 2 works to be published in the ThunderBird Review and both were accepted. I will post a link to the Publication when it is availiable for purchase, through the college in FondDuLac tribal and community College.
Despite the many obstacles of the past month, which are many, I feel as though we are slowly moving toward a very busy summer season, and I do look forward to being busy with work that I love to do.
